Enhanced Printing and Spooler

I seem to remember that you can't send Enhanced Printer commands to the spooler and then on to the laser printer.
I tried to search this forum to find out if there was any chat about that, but, as you can guess, you really can't do such a search.
Anyone have any experience or knowledge about this??
