Yes, QSPOOL's unspool runs in a background partition. The only exception to that is if there are no background partitions available. In that case it will run in the same partition as QSPOOL is running. If that happens, the html printer could be used.

The DES program HtmlPtr which is invoked when you print to your html printer uses the (Launch=) mnemonic on LUN 0 (the terminal) to display the document. In a background partition you don't have a terminal available so it can't do that. The "View" to browser will work for CA because it runs in the same partition as QSPOOL rather than in background. As far as Comet32 is concerned, we haven't finished the spool driver for it yet so as of now you can't unspool anything :-) We hope to have it available soon. As we have done with with other programs that required background I suspect we may replace the ACTIVATE with the running of a new session instead. Have you tried DocMgr?
