How safe is a VPN connetion?

Don't care about naysayers, get a life. Got to proceed forward. VPN is on the frig of my experience. I understand the concept but cannot manage it yet. With IVP4 being challenged by global usage now have to look at IVP6. To date, I've unchecked it in properties. Just as I get to 101, IVP6 is future. So why waste time on 4 other than to gather the obvious past. What's the future with 6? How close?? Here's a URL that's interesting. I read alot!!
