I see both of your points. This suggests 2 approaches to the enter capability.

1. Enter a program that puts up a control such as a date picker, printer selector, or combo box to do the selection, and then fill in the edit field with the result.

PROMPT %company% 2 ENTER GETZZCO

2. A potentially completely silent enter program that does some sort of calculation or something to supply the value.

ENTER %company% 2 GETZZCO
