I agree that they should all be static, but I am just saying that it is often times beyond our control and it would be nice if we didn't have to accomodate this problem and I realize that all of your products act this way, but most Windows Database and Server apps don't. For example, any SQL Server (Pervasive, MySql, MSDE)or corporate anti-virus software like symantec or McAfee.
With most of your customers it's probably not an issue, but we have over 200 accounts that use this and we are trying to lower our maintenance and support calls, we shouldn't have to go on-site or dial-in just because they have a new IP Address or a new computer.
