I did a project a few years back dealing with Signature capture. The device which was a WelchAllyn model TT1500, came with a standalone program that, when launched, opened up the capture device, and then opened a window on the computer attached to the device that displayed what the capture device was seeing. If the capture device registered an 'accept' button, the signature was captured in a .bmp file in a location specified by my program (when the program was launched, you gave it the path + the file name where the signature would be stored). I was then able to take that .bmp and print it on our invoices for both printing, faxing and emailing. Unfortunately, the newer versions of the device did not come with a standalone program. It required a visual basic program be written. Since my client was going in a different direction, we did not proceed any further with the new devices. fyi - the TT1500 has been discontinued.
