Not sure if this is the problem or not but I'd check the command line setup to do the compile. Click on "Advanced"->"Tool Configuration". On the "Command" tab check the path for the compile tool. It should look something like: "C:\Program Files\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\Console.Exe" /c "%F" /t /R%r

I have seen some where there were multiple backslashes in a row or missing quotes.
