Vista/7/2008 all same code base. Wanting to discover Raid-5 at this level as fast as possible. Gotta keep pace. Plunged into ADAPTEC's solutions. At the time, trusted hardware provider at the XP/2003 level because that's where I/they were! Gotta start some where! So apply to next level, let's go!! Was leaning on my hardware provider too much at the time. They had their monsters and I had mine. So did MS and other vendors. That's why Vista failed. Also the 32/64 issue. So my raid blew up!! At 2008 level. Old school procedure of configuring disc drives was FDISK and formatting FAT32/NTFS. 2008/7/Vista requires another level above FDISK called "initialization". How did my hardware guy do this?? Have to make an initialization choice of MBR or GPT. GPT has capability to address disc drive size to the EXE level!! Decided to choose MBR since my Raid-5 is just 1.4 tera. Not 1000 tera or higher. No need to go EXE at present. Currently on 4th day of initialization. Doesn't seem right but I'll proceed. Lost 4 days revenue doing this. When upgrading PC's/Networks MUST consider and super research hardware/software requirements. Even only being 2 years behind is not good enough!!
