We have a new version ready to go out. It has one change that could prevent a crash in a rare situation where it has trouble reading the USB token. I can make this available to you later today if you like. Going back to 9.05 will be an interesting experiment, but the problem fixed in the new version appears to have existed in 9.05 also.
