We have recently upgraded our development server from a stand-alone Windows Server 2003 machine to a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine set up for Hyper-V. We did this for a few reasons - the 2003 server was getting old, we have a few end-users migrating to this platform and we want to reduce the number of servers in our rack, replacing them with VM's on the new server. From the start of this process we had
a lot of trouble achieving the same response time we had on the old server. The attached document outlines our findings and the final
configuration that we found optimal.
