Like the blue train engine that keeps chugging along. I think I can, etc. Have successfully adopted DLG10 stuff into my stuff. Divided the DLG10.IBS into two parts. Copied line 1 to just before the first EXE Clear statement to a newly defined USE/INCLUDE file. The remainder went to another defined USE/INCLUDE file. To me, Accounting software at it's simplist is a data entry/maint, work list, register with update. Decided to use my version of DLG10 at the data entry/maint level. Old way of doing things was to just use you fingers and enter, enter, enter. Of course the operator knows what to enter all the time! Right?? I'm of the school to BATCH it. Blame it on IBM and their batch cards. 1st Include file is inserted after my declarative statements. 2nd Include is my LAST statement before the END statement. Sound familiar? Before any updating occurs, be convinced of what your updating is correct. So I've always used a temp workfile to record something like invoices you're trying to enter into your accounting system. My new method is to use a DLG10 of currently proposed entries to be displayed in a list box and mouse selectable instead of using your fingers to type. New entry, hit CANCEL. Want to MAINT, mouse click it. Speeds things up. My suggestions, captions only defined in DEMODLG.DLL?? Change it. Maybe some font options? DLG insert and such don't work. Only OK, CANCEL. Thinking along the lines of SUPERNOVA and the F1 Help key, DLG10 style lookup's would be a refreshing update. I'm on it. Question is how fast is fast. I'll test. 2000 records, 3000, 4000, 10,000? Lets find out!!
