I had a similar problem to Grants with a user that was using Vista as the OS. On startup it could not find catemp which comet thought should be in c:\windows\cafiles\catemp. I renamed cosw.ini and the new file put cafiles it in the more logical c:\users\{currentUser}\appdata\local but it was having a hard time updataing the cosw.ini file which is in the c:\programdata\signature systems folder so I edited it by hand. The original complaint was the user couldn't run comet DocMgr. This started after an upgrade to 419.

Not sure how cafiles gets put in c:\windows but that seems wrong.
