Hello from the Days Inn Newark. I am traveling to the east coast for a week or so before the meeting so, I thought I would spend a night at this hotel to "check it out".
I arrived from Seattle last night at 11:45 pm. After Picking up my bags, I called the hotel and they told me to go to Sky Train stop P4 to get the hotel shuttle. There is a monorail running around the airport, called the Sky Train, that stops at all the gates as well as the parking areas and the train station to NY. I got to the P4 stop around midnight and the shuttle was there within 5 minutes, and I was at the hotel 10 minutes later.
I got the last room they had left last night since there was bad weather here and many flights were cancelled. But I got a room with 2 double beds. And, yes they are double, not queen beds. The hotel is not the Ritz, but the rooms are clean and made up nicely and the staff is very nice.
I was told that there are several ways to get to NYC from here:
The shuttle only goes back and forth to "P4", but from there you can take either the train or busses to New York.
For about $90 you can hire a van that will accomodate up to 7 people and you can share the expense. The hotel will arrange this and the van leaves from the hotel.

Wireless in the room and the restaurant is good and fast and free. I don't think we will have much trouble there. I have not seen the meeting room yet, but I will try to look today and report what I find later.
Thats about all for now. It looks like it will be a good meeting, and I am looking forward to seeing all of you on the 12th.
The train runs until 2:00 am, and the busses run about every 30 minutes.
