I usually go via LGA (LaGuardia) or JFK (International Airport) but I understand there's an easy connection between EWR (Newark) and Manhattan via the "go 28" bus:

it's a quick shot to the Prudential Insurance Company (Stop #16 on the map) the connection info from PruCenter is:

this may be a little round-about, but there are sports and arts events near Prudential, so the busses/PATH trains run all night... cheap and direct
