Comet 420 & 421 /16

1) While updating a customer's Comet Server (peer-to-peer, XP Pro SP2) from Comet 2009 to Comet 2010 421. I encountered something strange. I have a "Developer" profile that I use to see if all is well before going around to the workstations. The Profile has three sessions and the first session uses QSTARTX. I didn't initially notice that the first session never appeared and did my testing on session 2. When I closed Comet and relaunched Comet.exe. I received the "server not found" message. I did a reboot and ran Comet.exe. This time I noticed the missing first session. Closed and restarted Comet. Again I received the "server missing" message. Using Task Manager, I killed off all remaining Comet processes but could not get past the error. Looking at Task Manager, this time really noticing the wowexec.exe, I killed it too. Comet would now start again. I cleaned everything up again and installed Comet416 and the matching REL and UTL. This version launces all three sessions.

2) Customer (XP Pro SP?) has two profiles one as "Developer" and one as "Admin". He switches back and forth a lot during the day as he answers calls, etc. Sometimes, if he switches quickly, Comet displays the "server cannot be found" message. Prior to 420, he used Task Manager to kill of any remaining Comet pieces (cosc, cfam, etc) and Comet.exe would start properly. I told him about my experience (above). Now he also has to kill a wowexec.exe that appears in Task Manager, indented, and usually paired with cosc.

In neither case did I have or use the MS VS 2008.
