Hi Doug. You've actually done everything correctly. The problem is that there is a bug in the ComeSeverProducts install program that fails to register the CFAM TCP/IP server properly. To confirm that this is the problem you can open the CFileSrv console (from the system tray) and look at the text line that says "Remote CFAM Users: [ 0 ]". Immediately to the right of the count should be the words "(Running)" or "(Inactive)". If yours says "(Inactive)" then the problem is as I suspect. Here's the steps you should undertake to resolve this problem.

1. First stop the Comet services by going to the Control Panel/Performance & Maint./Administratione Tools/Services. Find and right click on the CometServices entry and choose "Stop" form the menu.

2. In the folder containing your servers you should find a program called CFamNetServer.Exe. Create a shortcut to this program in the same folder (name it something like "register CNS"). Edit the shortcut properties and add a command line option " -RegServer". Save the changes and execute the shortcut (you WILL NOT see anything happen).

3. Restart the Comet services by following the instructions in step 1 and choosing "Start".

4. Again open the the CFileSrv console and see if you now see "(Running)" next to the remote cfam entry. If it is runnning then you should be able to connect with your type 'C' directories.

Thanks for your patience.
