There was no ($COMET) alias created by CometWorkstation.exe or cosw.exe. I ran Comet.exe and it created ($COMET) and ($CONFIGURATION). Both point to Q:\.
However, my CAW session doesn't work with comet.exe. If I go back to cosw.exe it does. Both show "CometAnywhere enabled on port 11751" in the log file.
At the remote, with the host loaded from cosw.exe, I get the "Upgrade" prompt. I answer Y and the verification starts. The program proceeds to ENTER PASSWORD. However, Help/About shows the client still at 320 and it prompts update everytime CAW starts. Where does the CAUpd334.exe go. I've tried Q:\, Q:\CAFiles, C:\Windows\CAFiles.
I "installed" CAW at the remote by ...
1. Creating a folder called Comet_Anywhere and placing cosw.exe and cosp.exe there
2. I placed a customized cosw.ini in the C:\Windows folder
3. I placed a customized shortcut on the desktop
Is there a preferred method.
