Get lots of calls from people offering Merchant Services and it triggered an idea.
I've never offered to do anything in Comet having to do with Merchant Services because it appears to be complicated and more cost than any customer wants to foot. Mostly they have manual scanners and handle credit cards outside of Comet and then tell Comet, in Cash Receipts, that the invoice was paid by credit/debit card.
So, what if Comet supplied a program to enable Credit/Debit checking ...
In my program(s) I load the # buffer
PRINT (#);CUSTID$;CARDID$;TRANAMT$;TRDATE$;TRTIME$ and whatever else
ENTER 'MerServ'
INPUT (#) RESULT$
RESULT$ would contain STATUS$ & VALIDATION$ and whatever else
MerServ - would encrypt the info I give it, send the transaction to a server run by SSI, the SSI server would then do the real Merchant services processing, and return the results to my program.
SSI could charge a monthly "connect fee" and plus a per transaction fee.
Doable? Legal?
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
