is the Compile Cross-Reference only readable thru UltraEdit?

I've never invoked the option X before and when I checked MXREFP01 (I was compiling in P01) I found that it was an SEQ file of some unknown format involving a lot of unprintable graphic characters.

What program must I run to read it?
