Comat on a virtual host

My client is considering getting rid of in-house servers and looking at Telstra (Australia) hosting the servers on virtual machines. My question is how will this impact on Comet licencing since there is no USB port to plug into on the virtual machine. Anyone had any experience with this configuration.
