Is there a way for Comet to Return the Serial Number assigned when writing to the Document manager from an IB program? I want to save the Document Name + Serial Number in a file as the Serial Number is assigned.
If No, Is it possible to create an Alternate Index on the Archive File.
For example if the Archive File name is ORDERS there is a Comet Keyed File ORDERS created in the Archive Directory. If for (SpoolMessage=string$)I set String$ to the Order Number can there be an Alternate Index starting at Position 111 for a count of 44.
ex: 000100-00 [ORDERS-0000000003].PDF.
In my application an order typically generates multiple Acknowledgments to the customer before the order is shipped. If I know the order number and serial number my Order Inquiry Program could be programmed to display a list of the dates an acknowledgment printed and select one to launch as a PDF Adobe.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
