Which version of Windows 7 is the laptop running, 32-bit or 64-bit? If it's 64-bit you must either run Comet32 or make the laptop a CometAnywhere client of a Comet16 host. If you want/need to run Comet32 you will definitely want to upgrade to the latest Comet 2011 version. Comet32 was only in beta test at version .422 and has seen a great number of corrections and enhancements since then.
