I am in the process of performing my first complete Comet to Comet32 on-site upgrade.
Found out, the hard way, that QSTARTX does not work for Comet32. I use it to auto-start XAP. (I also found out that the nodename is returned in lower case in Comet32 vs uppercase in Comet16.
I am looking at modifying my custom QMONITOR to Run (Enter ?) QSTARTX automatically.
I know I am looking for a RUNSTATE=2, but I can't remember how do to find out:
1) Is this the first session
2) Is this is first run
3) How different would it be, if I run Comet as a Service ?
I do not want to use the /Keyfile: option because this could potentially expose a username/password to curious users.
I still have to figure out how to handle the missing QSPOOL and the OleDB (aka fax driver) that we use to control Acrobat Reader.
I am however, rather happy to get rid of ODBC.
So, how do I tell that Comet32 is being executed for the first time ?
