Since you have your own Qmonitor, I would suggest that there are several ways to detect whether this is the first session to be run. My "off the top of my head" solution would be to attempt a create of a special file in the tmp directory. If you are using $(catemp) as you should, the first create should be successful and subsequent creates should excp out, since Comet erases all files there when it starts up.

As you can tell from this forum, we are working through some very small details about the differences between the r16 and r32 runtime code. I am glad that your most pressing issues have to do with external programs such as oldb and qspool vs docmgr. As you can imagine, we are keenly interested in fixing any bugs you may discover.

p.s. I personally think you should stay away from Comet as a Service to avoid the complexities Microsoft imposes on that technique. I am a fan of automatic start up as we outlined in a previous post.
