Thanx for the important difference between RUNning the next program and the ENTER/EXIT, which re-sets back to the environment before the ENTER... that explains a "now you see it, now you don't" problem I had some time ago (all is herein revealed).......

my question was prompted by checking the contents of COMMON at the start of a program that I ran from my "Z" menu. It seemed that the first 8 bytes were the name of the program itself.... I consider the fact that when I put the program name in the Menu Entry, the Menu was actually doing a RUN, but I couldn't figure out what was the layout of COMMON after this , since I found a part of today's data (with the Day of the week and Month Names spelled out) in one of the fields in my COMMON, and other fields of my COMMON had square blocks (some kind of HEX unprintables) in them

Curiouser and Curiouser..... said Alice
