It sounds like the control file for that spool is damaged. You might try rebuilding it using the KEYBLD utility.

Assume the name of the bad spool is "SPL". The name of the file you must rebuild is "SPLJOBS". If the name of your spool was "SP2" the name of the file you'd rebuild is "SP2JOBS".

When you run KEYBLD, it will make a new file from the bad one in a different directory of your choice. The parameters of the file are:
rec size 64
key size 8
The key data is located beginning in position 38 for a count of 8 bytes. Select "Record Sequence" rather than "Key Sequence".

After the file has been rebuilt, use Windows Explorer to copy the new file into the original directory. Since it's a keyed file you'll have to copy 2 files. If the name of the file you rebuilt is "SP2JOBS" you'll need to copy "SP2JOBS" and "SP2JOBS.I00".

I suggest you make a copy of the original files before replacing them with the rebuilt one in case the file does not rebuild correctly.
