I'm glad to hear that LOCK now seems to be stable.

I too want to prevent another user from accessing a file until a posting program finishes but I am afraid of using a lock record in Z1. If the power fails, if the machine goes down, if the user presses F3, if and if and, then the Z1 record will remain. FOREVER.
