Had 3 PDF archives (PDFARCHX..Z in SPX..Z respectively) and 3 TXT archives (TXTARCHX..Z in STX..Z respectively)
in addition, had the original QSPOOL spoolers SPL and SPA ("archive")
in the first testing, was able to archive from SPL or SPA to any of the 6 archives.
then... wanted to try to run programs and directly print to a PDF archive and a TXT archive.
so... starting with the PDF archives, removed each of the archives (with their 5 indices... thanx to DocMgrMK)
accomplished this by the following...
cleared out the archives PDFARCHX..Z and TXTARCHX..Z
copied PDFARCHX and TXTARCHX to SPL
deleted PDFARCHX..Z from SPX..Z and TXTARCHX..Z from STX..Z
cleared out the dirs they formerly were in (SPX..Z and STX..Z) deleted every object in the dirs
removed the Dirs (SPX..Z, STX..Z) from the .INI and re-SYSGENned
at this point I'm ready to test printing directly to either the new
SPX (printing to PDFARCHX in SPL)
STX (printing to TXTARCHX in SPL)
when I specify SPX (PDFARCHX) I expect to find it popping up in the archive PDFARCHX in SPL
instead, the properly formed PDF file is all alone in the (otherwise) empty SPX folder which:
is not in the SYSGEN
doesn't have a QDIR
used to be where SPZ/PDFARCHZ was, not SPX
I just can't see how this is finding the folder SPZ... does the PDF printer itself have its own list of folders?
