Assuming it's not a Report Generator program, can't you put a flag in the program that will not allow the data to be deleted unless it has been printed successfully and acknowledged by the operator?
Or at least use Microsoft's "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS DELETED? standard posting.
What am I missing here, you know more about programming that I do?
