03 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\UTL\";
04 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\CED\";
05 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\DEL\";
06 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\QMT\";
07 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\SPL\";
08 = C ,"\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\COMET\^^^\";

The resulting CFG file.

D00$"\\VMWARE-HOST\SHARED FOLDERS\COMET\COS\"\
D01$"\\VMWARE-HOST\SHARED FOLDERS\COMET\REL\"\

All the other CFG files end with "COS\". It appears that SYSGEN is adding an extra "\".
