Killing Comet on workstation via batch process

Anybody have a quick and dirty way of checking and killing off Comet running on a workstation, possibly multiple screens, using sc, net stop or taskkill? Taskmanager shows applications labeled as Term id's, and processes as cosh, cosc, and cosw for each active screen.

I've tried multiple combinations that have resulted in not only termination comet, but also causing the inability to relaunch without a machine reboot.

I need to quietly terminate CA hosts and any other local users prior to doing a backup, then relaunch the CA hosts after backup completes.
