If the printer supports it, you can produce your output as a PDF and send it via LPR (see Unix Printing in Windoze components).
I currently use it, where I have to use a cross-border USPS Address Correction and letter carrier presort. Retreive CASS report and all Postage Statements as PDFs and LPR them over to the laser printers.
Lots of printers support LPR but you have to use the printer name/IP as server 'S=' and 'Default' as printer 'P='
command looks like this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\lpr.exe -S 192.168.1.52 -P Default -o l %1
I usually create a shortcut in the 'Send To' in my Windows profile to allow me to send a file directly to a printer without 'Printing it' on my local station. Can also work on label printers where Notepad adds garbage. If LPR does not work, you can use C:\WINDOWS\system32\print.exe /d:\\remoteComputer\sharedPrinter "%1"
This is great when testing Zebra label design. I created a file association for dot-ZLP files to send them directly to the printer. Can also assign a cute icon ;)
You can also use the
