I've had this same problem for nearly a year. I've kept it on the shelf because I can work around it and I know that Comet32 work had priority. Symptoms are this: I've got Comet running, current versions of everything, login with my password and have access to all directories. I compile a program in UE and it says that the Directory Name is invalid. If you continue to compile & click OK, sometimes I type in the password again, sometimes I type it in with Shift to caps, I've tried everything to figure it out, but eventually it will compile. It can compile on the first try, the third try or the 10th try. Eventually it will compile. It is a waste of time and very frustrating when the program is time-critical. Sometimes I will connect to my NYC machine which is running XP and a much older version of UE in order to compile first time without all the Directory Not Found messages. I'll volunteer to have Barb connect to my machine to see what's going on as it is easily re-created and demonstrated.
