It should be pretty straight-forward to make the conversion. Here are some things you'll have to do:
- Get a new license certificate with CometServe32 licenses instead of NLM licenses. You should call Twila for info on the cost of this conversion.
- Move the dongle from the NLM system to the Windows Server. If it's a parallel port dongle, make sure you have a port on the new server or else you'll need time to order a USB dongle and certificate.
- Run CometServerProducts0404.exe (or whichever version is the latest when you do this) to install the security and file server software.
- Change the Comet.ini file to refer to the new server by IP address (in the [SITE] section). Also change the pathnames of all directory references.
- If you plan to run Comet on the new server it will only run Comet 2004 because it is a Windows 2003 Server. Buy a new license if necessary.
