It's not that complicated. As I told Steve, it's that the UIs for the servers didn't have time to shut down properly. The UIs are the console windows you use to "see" what's going on with the Comet Servers. To shut them down manually, click on File->Exit on each one. Then retry the server install. Once the services restart you may have to restart the UIs manually if you chose to not reboot the computer.

You'll find shortcuts to the UIs in the Window Startup folder. Or you can run them from your Comet Services folder. They are SecSrvUI.exe and FileSrvUI.exe.
