I haven't finished investigating all the possible ramifications of making this change. I know QMONITOR truncates the node name displayed at the bottom of the screen. There are also many places within SYSGEN that would have to change to support this in the Option 2 code that generates a .ini file from an existing .cfg. Does anybody even use this??
I did make the one change that was obviously truncating the name for Option 1. I did limited testing here with Comet32 and it appears to work. I extended the node name to 12 characters. If you want to try it, I've attached a .zip here that contains the overlay. Be sure you only install this on a REL 14.02 release. Let me know if you see any problems. Your experience will help determine whether this change is released or not.
