Any chance of getting a new SYSGEN? It should create profile name as we defined it. That would work fine with me and doubt it could cause problems for anyone using 8 characters names.

For Windows 7 x64, I created Domain Group Policy (GPO) that automatically creates a desktop shortcut for Comet32 using the actual computer name as PN=%ComputerName%. It works fine but I have to manually rename dozens of dot-cfg files everytime I make a change in SYSGEN - which is often as we replace/rename stations and re-assigned shared printers path from station shared to GPO deployed Domain based Printing Management.
