OK really stepping out into uncharted territory. What if you installed the latest Comet Server release. That should certainly install on Server 2003 and setup the services. Then replace CFileSrv.exe and CSecSrv.exe in the CometServices folder with the older versions. Not sure how you'll extract the old .exes from the install, however. Maybe it will install on an old XP machine?

Obviously I haven't tried this. Just trying to think of something as we can't support that old release.
