extended windows

I am having an intermittent problem with Extended Windows. Periodically the Extended Window will display a blank screen and freeze Comet. After a node shutdown and restart things return to normal for awhile. It's happening to multiple machines in multiple programs. I need someway to trace what's causing the lockup. I tried rolling back to Ver 487/14.05 but nothing changed.
