I intend to try to trace this issue but like I mentioned earlier, COL=20 happens in rare case and the program processes 1.25 million records.

I'll trace every statement that touches COL or the string it builds and maybe put a speed-trap if the value becomes '00'.

All I can say right now is OUCH !


Remember the very same code compiled in Come16 has been working for 20 years and is currently executed on a Comet32 computer. Only when compiled as Comet32 does it go haywire!
