SearchFile used with txt files... is this kosher????

I'm testing out using SearchFile with a .txt file with variable sized lines....

is there any problem with this.????

it seems to run more slowly as it runs... which is usually a sign of sume buffer pool that's not being cleared, or some data heap not being de allocated.....

I thought that since the man page shows only fixed lenght records with a fixed format, this might be mandatory
