Robert, thanks. The key (inbr$) is 18 characters in my case.
What I tried to do is pull the whole record (from byte 0 in my coding) to a string (R$); I'll try from position 1 as test.
If I can get the whole record to a local variable, which isn't working. I could then deal with any unpacking on the fly. The unpacking part should be straight forward as I have really good tools/functions to deal with the data at the binary level if required. I hope to make a quick sample program today to see if I can address my problem. I'll post a quick sample here even if I don't get it to work.
My other option is to write a 'ten liner' to simply rewrite the I1A file to an un-imaged file every hour (inventory doesn't change that often) on the Comet side and then reference it.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
