The reason your program crashes is because you have the seed string for ENCRYPT set to "". Per the documentation, the string must have a length of 1 to 254. I might be able to issue an E45 (Invalid Parameter) if you do this but I'm just wondering if this is what you were doing in your real program or just in the test program.
