There use to be the possibility to run Comet as a Service. I've used it for a long time. I am not sure it is supported still.
If you can do an auto login then add a BATCH file to the STARTUP folder (or Scheduled Task) and use TIMEOUT before launching COMET.EXE.
TIMEOUT is build in Windows 7 ++, SLEEP is a Windows ADD on and PAUSE does not do what you want.
