Actually, I did not give up. I just now reproduced the error you were
seeing with the path ".\spl". I will investigate further. I think it has
something to do with the "current directory" changes we just made
recently.

Hi,
I don't think my problem has anything to do with the ini file. I used
one of the node names from a computer that works on a computer that
doesn't work & it also did NOT work. I think something on certain
computers is causing the error. I put Comet 325 on their system last
week when I changed the spool path & the problem probably began then.

I think you misunderstood me. It is in the directory section as well as
the spool section.

NO, Barb, J:\comet\spl\ must be in the [DIRECTORY] section as well as
the [SPOOL] section of the ini file as I said.

ALSO, the user must have access to the spool directory when running a
program that prints to the spool. That has to do with your Qmonitor
security settings if you are using blind passwords.

SSR isn't the only spool that doesn't work. We also found out that some
computers do work. Ex. Pat works but Sherry doesn't & they have the
same op system.
Also, I changed the SSR last night to see if making the path the same as
SPL would fix it. It didn't.
J:\comet is the directory that SPL is in and the startup directory.
Thanks,
Barb

PS I had Sherry turn off her virus checker and try to print to both SPX
& SSR & both got the error 81. Also I had 2 others try the spooler &
one worked & one didn't.
Help!!

Barb,

Here is a snip of your ini file, It looks to me like you can only get to
the spool SSR because that is the only spool that is represented both in
the spooler section and the directories section.

Jim

Spool = SPL, J:\COMET\SPL\;
Spool = SCH, J:\COMET\SPL\;
Spool = SSR, .\SPL\;
Spool = SLP, J:\COMET\SPL\;
Spool = SPX, J:\COMET\SPL\;
Spool = SWS, J:\COMET\SPL\;
Spool = SME, J:\COMET\SPL\;

Hi,
Here is the ini file. I can't see anything wrong. If you go to the
spool #26, the old jobs are there but if I try to print to any of the
spools, I get an error 81
Thanks,
Barb

You must have the spool directory also accessed by the user as one of
her DABS. If you do not find the problem in your ini file and qmonitor
security setup, send them to us and we will help you.
