If by single-user you mean that CFileSrv is on the same system then yes - you can connect to CFileSrv through CFAM without configuring a type 'S' or type 'C' server. If the directories are type 'C' and they are on the same machine then CFAM will automatically start (if required) CFileSrv and use it as a stand-alone file system.
