I am having some problems with .I00 and DOS files and the sort option for Data Express under CFAM.

CFAM PROBLEMS.

Versions.
Windows and Comet versions as follows.
Windows XP Pro version 2002 – Service Pack 1
Comet Security Server 32 - 4.06. (Installed in C:\Comet Services)
Comet Database Server 32 - 4.09. (Installed in C:\Comet Services)
Comet 2004 Build .341 or Comet 2005 Build.342 (Beta) (Installed in C:\Comet\)
REL 04.06. (Installed in C:\Comet|Rel\)
UTL 04.07. (Installed in C:\Comet\Utl\)

Comet 2004/2005.

The following problems only occur when Comet Database Server 32 is running.

When I copy a key only file (.I00 only), I get an error 44 I/O Buffer Overflow. An empty file copies OK.

When I run MAINT on an empty file, the next file in the QDIR list shows in the index field when I enter ‘FIR’ or ‘N’ in the option prompt. In Comet Explorer, both options show EOF.
The above condition causes a runtime error in the scenario where I use a KEY statement on a key-only file followed by a DELETE with no exception statement. The program has read in the erroneous key value as above and gives an error 32 on the DELETE statement.
I see this problem has been identified in the forum under CFAM bug by Jeff Cinnelli on 10/25/04.

I also have a situation where I have some programs which do a lot of DOS creates, deletes, reads and writes which all run fine in Comet 2000 but I am experiencing problems when running them under Comet 2004/2005 with CFAM operative. Are there any variations I should cater for in the CFAM environment for DOS operations. The program halts during the DOS write phase and shows ‘CosH caused a general protection fault in module CosH.exe at (0004:15DA or 0005:2C43). CosH will close’. When I close Comet on the first session (terminate), I then have to close all other sessions one at a time. After this, Security Sevrer and CometServe both show zero users, but when I try to reload Comet, it says there are no free sessions.I will send more detail on this problem if there is nothing that you are aware of.
When I read in a DOS file with an EOF exception test for BYTES = 0, the program sticks on the last DOS record.

Comet Data Express.
When I use the SORT statement in View Manager (output to Excel), I get only the first item printed (Ascending or Descending order). I have a configured a sort gateway 2,0 in my .INI file. Selects all items when there is no SORT statement.
