dosfc instruction in c2005

I have a series of programs that no longer work under comet 2005. They include the following logic:
DOSFILE$ = STRIP(PCNAME$) + "@00@"
AX$ = "@3D42@" & CX$ = NULL$
DOSFC(AX$,CX$,DOSFILE$) !EXCP=PROCFILE ! OPEN INPUT FILE

When I run, I get an error 27 under comet 2005. I restored comet 2004 and all works fine. Any suggestions?
