We are trying to set up Cometserve32 on an experimental Windows 2003 server for testing purposes (evaluating Active Directory). We have the dongle and a temporary "license.txt". Installation of CometServe32 occurred without incident. However, we are crashing into a blank wall when trying to set up a client.
To be precise -- there appears to be a catch-22 in that this is a brand-new install, therefore there are NO cfg files (ie, profiles) configured. To create the CFG files, I have to edit the appropriate ini file(s), and then use "SYSGEN". However, this is the rub -- how can I use SYSGEN if the COMET client does not run?
Every attempt to run COMET.exe results in a msg stating that I need a "profile", and an error msg "No Comet Directories Found. Correct the configuration and/or network access rights and try again. Comet cannot continue.".
What are we doing wrong? What are my next steps to correct this so that we can connect with a client and complete the evaluation in the test environment? Thank you.
