There are several other advantages to CAW over a VPN.
1) You can keep the CAW ports closed allowing you to keep the network shut down to the internet.
2) The user is authenticated to the network.
3) The user can use network resources.
4) The administrator is aware of who is connected and the resources they are using.
We run CAW over Checkpoint VPN.
